Driveways, Surfacing & Groundworks Questions Answered.

Clear answers about Vuba resin bound, Asphalt, Civils & Groundwork - Built to Civil Engineering Standards.

1. Do you install resin-bound driveways in Cheshire?

Yes - we design and install premium Vuba resin-bound driveways across Cheshire including Sandbach, Knutsford, Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Altrincham and surrounding areas. All Vuba resin systems use UV-stable binders and specified aggregates for long-term structural performance.

2. What is the difference between tarmac, asphalt and resin, and which is best for my driveway?

We install all three systems and recommend based on lifespan, load levels and budget. Tarmac is ideal for domestic driveways, asphalt is used for commercial-grade loads, and Vuba resin-bound offers a premium decorative finish. We assess your project and provide the best specification for long-term durability.

 3. Do you carry out excavation and full ground preparation?

Yes - Hinchliffe provides complete excavation, grading, removal, sub-base installation and ground preparation. Every installation follows controlled methodology and civil-grade standards, ensuring stability and structural lifespan.

4. Can you replace an old driveway completely?

Yes - we remove existing surfaces, excavate to required depth, install a new MOT Type 1 sub-base and finish with resin, tarmac, asphalt or block paving depending on your preference.

5. Do you offer commercial surfacing and car park works?

We provide full commercial surfacing for business parks, industrial yards, commercial developments, private roads and car parks. All commercial installations follow engineering-grade specifications and controlled compaction.

6. How long does a resin, tarmac or asphalt driveway take to install?

Most domestic driveways take 2–4 days depending on size, excavation depth and weather. Larger commercial projects will be scheduled accordingly. We provide clear timelines before work begins.

7. Do you build new driveways from scratch?

Yes - we carry out full groundworks, drainage, kerbs/edgings, sub-base construction and the final surfacing layer. Everything is installed to the correct depth, levels and specifications.

8. Can you work in Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Knutsford and Altrincham?

Absolutely - these areas are part of our core service region. We regularly complete high-spec surfacing and groundworks projects throughout Cheshire East and South Manchester.

9. What guarantees do you offer on your surfacing work?

All installations come with workmanship guarantees and manufacturer-backed material warranties. Our surfaces are designed for structural performance and long-term durability

10. Do you install new drainage for driveways?

Yes - we install linear drainage, soakaways, falls, channels and engineered water management systems to ensure your driveway drains correctly and meets local regulations.

11. How do I get a quote for a new driveway or surface?

You can request a quote directly through our website, call us, or send photos via WhatsApp. We provide fast, accurate quotes and site visits when needed.

12. Are you insured and qualified for civil-grade work?

Yes - we are fully insured and experienced in civil-grade surfacing, tarmac, groundworks and excavation. All work is carried out with controlled methodology, structural accuracy and safe working practices.

13. Is resin stronger than tarmac or asphalt?

Premium resin-bound systems such as Vuba provide significantly higher compressive strength compared with standard domestic tarmac or asphalt. Vuba ULTRA systems are laboratory-tested to be up to 57% stronger in compressive strength, making them an excellent choice for long-lasting domestic and light-commercial driveways.

14 - How long does Vuba resin last?

With proper base preparation and installation, Vuba resin-bound systems typically last 20–25 years with minimal maintenance. They resist cracking, colour fading and surface wear far better than older resin formulations.
